Our history

SmartSimple was born in the winter of 2002 at the University of Toronto, the brain child of Michael Reid and Keith Yau.
Our first office was located in Toronto, Canada, with three employees, five users and one client.
Our team is made up of passionate individuals. Despite the remote nature of our work, we place a high value on fostering a dynamic and engaging work culture.
Our virtual team building events and spontaneous brainstorming sessions are just a few examples of the ways we stay connected and support each other.
We’re a creative, collaborative, and passionate group of people who want to help organizations work more efficiently so they have time to focus on the big ideas.
We've over 120 employees across our network of offices in Canada, the US, Ireland, and the UK, with 52% representing visible minorities. 45% are women, and 55% are men.
We're an equal opportunity employer welcoming all applicants regardless of gender, disability, sexual orientation, family status, age, race, or religion.
You'll be entering into a culture of inclusion, innovation, and collaboration.
Your personal development is prioritized during your first few months, kicking off with our Mentor and Cara (friend in Irish) programs.
We provide a competitive salary and benefits along with perks depending on your region, like Friday Hours, Recharge Weeks, health, fitness & gaming program, tuition assistance, HeadSpace membership and much more!

Each week, our employees host Radio Hour, a weekly virtual event where we listen to music and work together on Zoom, fostering community and team bonding while working remotely. We save all the playlists for future use too.
